When veteran architect Joh Sungyong wins a bid to redevelop one of Seoul’s last 1970s apartment complexes, he proposes something radical: don’t tear it down. Preserve the trees. Reuse the buildings. Open the gates for public access and let the city remember. As backlash grows, the project begins to fall apart until the building itself raises its voice.
나이 든 건축가 조성룡은, 서울의 가장 비싼 땅 중 하나인 잠실에 위치한 낡은 주공 아파트 대단지 재건축 설계 공모전에 우승한다. 그곳의 건물을 재활용하고, 나무를 남기고, 담장을 없애려는 그의 급진적인 설계안에 맞서 개발업자들과 집주인들은 거세게 항의하고 결국 재건축 자체가 무산될 위기에 처한다. 그런 그에게 낡은 콘크리트가 말을 걸어온다.
